ViaCad will not blend (#1588)

to all with your fast and helpfully replies.

I started to rebuild my ring with ViaCadPro, bending along spline ( great tool ) and mirror.
Now it workes. I do not know why.
I tried to change the resolution and the color.
I tried the file from Steve. i had no chance. So i rebuilt it in a different way ( only one booling operations ) and it works.

the stones (long time ago ) and the rendering i made in cinema 4d.
next time i try to import the stones into the symbols of ViaCad and test how it is usable for me.

I find that strange unless there is some problem with the mac version with blending. Did you get any error popups while attempting to blend?
Could someone with a mac version please look at this, TIA


I was going to upload the model with the blends, but I keep getting an "upload failed" (maybe an unintentional limit on the vc3 files).

yes, two different error popups
please see the pictures

in the begining i used ViaCad 6, also with the mac version.

what do you mean with TIA ?

I am seeing no problem with the blending with current beta. Maybe some update to the beta is resolving this problem?

I have been attempting to attach the model with the blends/rads, but I keep getting an upload failed, so I can only attach a pic.

Yes, I blended the 4 intersections first:-

no way in my file, probably you are right, it could be different to the mac version.

funny i can open your file with ViaCad 6 but if i try to open it with ViaCad Pro i get an errormessage: this file is damaged cannot read into application.
Anyway i can change the blending value in ViaCad 6

Hope the upgrade to viaCad_Pro_6 will come soon :-)

I think it will be after the release of Shark LT.

You could look at the shark LT beta, yes,.. before you mention, beta software is not something everyone wants to use, but the current beta`s are actually for testing the current releases with bug fixes. It is not a case of new commands etc being tested, just a case of reported issues being fixed.

It would certainly help yourself to use the beta, and your feedback would also be from the current version, and help with finding problems.

There is a post http://forum.punchcad.com/showthread.php?t=1508 with links for the shark LT beta.

for the link to shark beta,
the download is running in this moment and i will try to work with. I just bought ViaCad pro ( a kind of downgrade from ViaCad 6 ) and actually i have a to learn all the features it provides. in the special the great bendigtool ( bend along path ) i love and it is very usefull for me.
i become very fast familiarly with your software :)
i will tell you how i like shark beta

Steve Your re-built file blends fine on the mac version. There are some small peculiarities however: If I select the entire model for blending only the top edges blend. If I blend the short edges first then select everything ViaCad hangs and has to be killed.

It is possible to get all sorts of errors if the short edges are not blended first because the blends of the other edges try to run into each other if the radius is greater than 0.1mm

Doing the blending in the order short edges, top, bottom then inner works fine.
