Viacad-pro. V11.0.0 build 1417
OS= Mojave 10.14.1

I have a problem.

I open an already existed file and make some changes to the drawings.
Then I like to save it.
When click on the "Save button" I got following message:

File may have been modified by another user! Do you want to write it anyway ?

When answering by "Yes"
I got following.
Could not save datafile. Please check that you have permission on this folder or file
/user /xxxx/desktop/yyy.vcp


I'm the only user on this MacBook Pro. and got this kind of message not when working in Viacad Pro V10

Each time I change the Privilege to "Read & Write." (via finder)


Next time I open the file and want to save. got again the same messages as above.
WhenI go see the status of the the privilege , they are changed to read-only (dropbox)
Obviously it is Viacad pro who change the status ( It was ,in this case) the only program used.)

OS-Mojawe . Viacad pro V11 build 1417

I'm saving locally on desktop.


I have remarked that a "SAVE AS" works.
He only ask if it may overwritten.
by "SAVE" I got the errors.

PS-1. When using " Save" some way or another, the file-privileges are changed by viacad.
just before opening the file it is Write & read. When saving it becomes read only. So I find that a big bug.

PS.-2 As a newbie to viacad.. Is it normal that there are so many bugs or things who do not work properly?( like - Save -spline .... and may be others who I have not used?) and that you got no answer when contacting "Encore" via mail to report errors?

I still have the problem. and no Solution.

OS= MOJAWE. Viacad-pro V11 build 1417

I got this problem since I upgrade to V11 !!!!



Do the following.

Open a new file…. p.e. test-1
Draw some line in it.
Save it via “Save” to desktop
Close Viacad.
Observe the rights = "Read & write"

Open viacad again and load the new file
Then draw a additional line in the drawing.
And do a “Save" again…
You got following warning.

File is not saved. !!!!!

Open test-1 again and draw a line in it.
You can save the file with “save-as”. p.e. test-2
Then close viacad
Observe the rights = "Read & write"
Then open test-2 again

Then draw a additional line in the drawing.
And to a “Save" again…

You got the same warnings as above and file is not saved.


I can not open a n already existed file , ad some lines to it and try to save... The only way is via "Save-as".


Who has the same problem ????
