Looking for a little bit of help please. I have been handed an igs file, which has come from a CMM. It's got a variety of points, vectors, surfaces etc in it. When I load it in, I get the vectors and surfaces but no points?

Tried it in the likes of Catia and we get the points showing, does ViaCAD not like the points?

They should be there, of course

- Try double-clicking the select tool icon - to select all ... do they show up when selected ?

(V/C shows points in different ways - depending on how it's set in the Inspector (display style) - it's worth a fiddle with that.

- Try pressing the 'e' key for zoom extents - do they show up ? Perhaps they've been scaled wrong and they're 100x too small etc

- Try show all / check for hidden layers (shouldn't really matter on newly imported igs)

If all fails -- download FreeCAD and use that as a stepping stone - it usually finds the missing bit : P

Then send the file to Tim - obviously points not showing up is not right

Yeah they show up in freecad, I have that on a virtual pc I sometimes use, but there's definitely nothing in VC. I've attached it here, if any Shark users could try it out please?

If I open it as a TXT file - it's Spatial InterOp data - so I'd say it's an error in VC !?

Just tried another one, straight out of Catia, exported to igs, hundreds of points in there, and VC loads sweet FA :-)

I'll try a step as soon as I can, need to adjust the Catia license to pick up the stp license and I'll try it then.

Cant get anything over than some lines coming in, really doesn't like points. freecad is opening it all fine

Looks like its a new build issue. I can import the iges in V9. I have attached the V9 file.

V8 finds the points too. Some time back, someone complained that his Microscribe didn't work, and Tim responded that he'd get it sorted, but I don't see the 3D digitiser toolbar in Shark V10 build 1354 at all now. Related somehow? A clear fail, whatever the reasons.
