Hello

I have set the Custom Resolution in Preferences to Super Fine, and even changed Curve and Angle to 1.0 each. I work in ViaCAD Pro 10.

I draw a doughnut (two rings, Push/Pull, or Extrude Solid and subtract the inner - I tired both). There are facets. Why? (see pic 1)

However, when I export my doughnut to .dxf it mutates to an angular object with 18 facets. (see pic 2)

What am I doing wrong - or rather: how can I get a better resolution?

TIA
andy

PS: When I subtract a free form from the ring things get weirder, but one thing at a time.

Hello Andy

What program are you opening the dxf in?

Can you post the files? You can zip the dxf to post it.

Andy

The first picture is the visual or screen view of the object.

What program is the second pic opened in? The dxf I re-imported into ViaCAD looks fine here.

don't evaluate objects by a screen resolution possibly reduced for display output speed as e.g. in ACAD (REGEN command helps) but select the entity and check object type etc. in the element property dialogue of the used application.

For evaluating entities from DWG/DXF files you can do this with the free Teigha Viewer.
