it's recommended serious consideration be given to upgrading Shark FX 9's section tool(s). for solids, the "upgraded" section tool(s) would return a
single contiguous closed figure for the exterior perimeter and likewise a
single contiguous closed figure for each of the interior perimeters. for surfaces, the "upgraded" section tool(s) would return a
single contiguous figure (closed or open) or one/or more
contiguous lines whose beginning and end correspond to the extent of the surface being sectioned.
it's my sense there's very little, if any, utility in a collection of random length line segments that may or may not yield a closed figure when joined! requiring the user to join a number of line segments, I submit, is only a source of process errors, frustration, and wasted time. speaking only for myself, the vast majority of the time I section something it's
NOT for the resulting perimeter(s), but rather one or more of the section properties (area, center, moments of inertia) or hatching.
