does anyone know if the "shelling" tool can be used to create irregular shaped tubes with TWO open ends? if so, how? if not, any thoughts on how to remove the closed end without having to create a second solid? while there's definitely some laziness involved, the principal concern is matching (slope and curvature) the internal shelled surface.

the second part of the "shelling" question has to do with thickness. does the "shelling" tool have a means to impose variable thickness? the specific case I'm interested in is thickness based on the distance from the center line; the situation that results when hydro-forming metal.............

Hi Art

No sorry, the Shell tool only supports a constant thickness per face. It does not support variable thickness. My guess is you will need to create two solids and subtract one from the other.
