so, i see some posts about lofting solids, but since i consider myself a newb to viacad i am looking for some tips.

so, i want to model a drum cutter, you know, those drum rollers that have the cutter on the drum and as the drum runs over fabric it cuts out shapes. i figure the approach is to 2D the outline of the pattern, turn that into a 3D "blade" and then loft that onto a cylinder. can i do it this way?
