Interpolate spline tool won't terminate and disappears

I just bought Viacad 2d 3d Version 9 for the Mac. I'm on system 10.6.8. I'm just beginning to try to figure the program out, was a graphic designer for 35 years so am familiar with some 3d programs and Adobe Illustrator. There is a video showing how to draw a goblet and extrude it. But I draw the 2 lines then go to the interpolate spline tool as the video shows, and draw it as the video shows, but if I go back to the line tool, control click or double click or escape I lose the entire curved line I just drew. So basically I can't figure out how to make that tool WORK. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I do have a more modern iMac with system 10 on it, maybe it would work there but its supposed to work with this older system. Would really appreciate some help here and their tech support says they won't answer application function questions, did I waste my money?

hi, i tried on mac os 10.6.8 with viacad pro 9 and it worked ok.
when drawing an interpolate spline, you finish that with double click at the spline endpoint. after double click select the line tool.
you can monitor your objects in the concept explorer (features tab). right click in the empty area of features and uncheck "selected only"

It sound like you are not finishing the spline. You do click-click-click and then end with a double click or ESC. Only then you go to the next tool. In your description you don't mention you are doing that.

Hello Trogdog
Look in the top when using tools as there are pointers that will help with tools as you use them. You can post questions here for help.
For example the interpolate spline tool shows text in teh top bar explaining the the 3 ways to accept/finish the spline tool.
Regards
Jason
