I'm trying to print a 2D drawing of some simple, curved parts (that we've already cut out of sheet aluminum, using the .DXF file export from Shark LT). How do I transfer the drawing into the "Model to Sheet" interface... and get the dimensions to transfer over? All I am able to get is a small 2D drawing, with just a couple of the reference lines.... and a strange, distorted 3D view of the part, cocked at an angle. And once in the "Model to Sheet" mode, how do you get back to the main drawing view? Thanks for the help! -Taylor

The model to sheet view just turns layers on and off. Goto concept explorer and turn the layers off for draw views and turn the ones on that have your geometry drawn.

Jason

The draw views in model to sheet are using certain planes to view maybe your geometry is not on the planes corresponding to the draw views. In each model to sheet view you can select a view and then rt click on the little red box and change the view.

Jason, Thanks for the help. In the main (drawing) view.... using the Concept Explorer... I can turn the visibility of my drawing on and off, by clicking the "Layer 1" eyeball icon. I can turn the visibility of the dimensions on and off, by clicking the "Dimensions" eyeball icon. With both turned on (visible), I can draw a marquee around everything with the arrow tool, and all items turn red. Then I go to Draw > 3D to 2D Drawing > Model to Sheet. A 2D top view (which is what I want) appears on the left, and a 3D representation at an angle appear on the right. A message appears telling me to activate the views, using the Concept Explorer.... but no matter what I do, the dimensions will not show up. ????????????????? Thanks! -Taylor

Taylor When you first do model to sheet the dialog box that opens ignore curves must be unchecked. Regards Jason

Taylor Where were the dimensions added in the program or imported? Can you click on a dimension and post a screenshot of the attribute and data tabs in inspector? Are the dimensions drawn on the xy plane, can you click the 2d in the top of the toolbar and still see the dimensions in the view? If you just need a title block you can load one from the symbols menu in the concept explorer under mechanical -drawing title bars. I would create a new layer and make active before importing the symbol. Regards Jason

The dimensions were all added to the drawing... with the "Smart Dimension" tool. Clicking on the 2D or 3D interface button makes no difference. (All dimensions are visible either way).
I'm attaching a screen shot, with the data tab info, etc.....
Thanks!
