Need to enter the number values after the object is copied & translated
select translate tool
select object
select first start point
hold ctrl
select second point with mouse
tab into the xyz fields and enter the values needed

It still doesn't seem to work. In 8 all you had to do is select the object hold the option key and type in a distance and hit enter as many times as you wanted it to dup out. ??

Guest, It should work. Be sure the gripper pops up on the part. I just select the center of the gripper and press option and drag. There have been instances where a duplicate part which has associativity cannot be selected or copied as far as I recall in particular with mirrored parts. I doesn't happen often but it does occur.

hi,
try also the linear duplicate tool for easy way to duplicate. when selected the data entry field in the linear duplicate dialog you can pick two points from the drawing area to assign the distance to data fields

That's certainly the way it worked in v8 and all the previous versions. I'm encountering the same issue and it is frustrating. Dragging (option key pressed) a duplicate works fine but the current build (1109) won't let you translate a duplicate object (i.e. holding down the option key) via the distance dialog boxes. This is definitely a bug and needs to be fixed. Of course there are work arounds, but those waste time. Hope Tim or someone sees this and includes it in next build.

Just wanted to clarify I'm using Viacad pro v9 (1109) but it has the same issue as Shark fx apparently.
