Hi all,

A newbie question :

With Viacad 2D/3D, when I apply a material to a surface, it is displayed immediately and I can see it while zooming, panning and rotating, as well as while adjusting the material's parameters.

With Viacad Pro V8, I have to use PhotoRender to see the material. As soon as I do any further action, including zooming, panning and rotating, the material disappears. This makes adjusting the material's parameter a bit harder. Furthermore, the rendering library offers completely different materials as compared to Viacad 2D/3D. For instance, I don't have any "Fabrics" materials in Pro version.

Question: is this the expected Pro version behavior or am I missing something?

Many thanks in advance.

Nicolas

Hello Nicolas

Yes.

ViaCAD 2D3D is using your OpenGL drivers to render the materials which displays very fast and real time.

ViaCAD Pro is using Lightworks which is uses ray tracing software algorithms and much slower.
