On behalf of GlenW ..

1 - how do you change the origin point of a group ?

2 - saving a custom symbol saves a preview which shows all the menus etc in Windows .. why ? Can't it just show the objects as with the Mac version ?

3 - On a newly purchased laptop, why do CU files show up with the Generic icon in the explorer, but with correct cu icons in the open/save dialogs ?

Thanks !!!

Glen .. here's the answer to the one about changing the Origin of a Group

It's really straight forward .. you just can't do it in a direct front, top or side view

So, go to a DynView .. then you can see and move the point that represents the origin of the group - where the red, green & blue Group Origin lines converge

Hope that made sense !

The Data Tab (in the Object Edit Dialog box) for a Group would greatly benefit from the following:

- labels for te X,Y & Z columns
- a reset button to zero all group translations made here

I think this has been posted before .. but without resolution.

When the group's origin point lies at the corner of a group's bounding box .. you then cannot move it. Why ?
