Can anyone advise how I can develop a straight tangent line between the perimeters of 2 circles (...different diameters, not connected), which is actually tangent at each of the perimeters of both circles....? I can get a line from one circle that is tangent at the second, but not necessarily tangent at the first..... I've looked around, and at all of the obvious tools, but can't quite seem to figure out how to get this (exceedingly simple) task done.... (!)

Hi Jim

after selecting Line tool

click on circle and hold the left mouse button and drag off at 45 degrees and you will see the tangent option

Then move to 2nd circle and move till tangent option snap then release
