Hi,
I want to warn again new users on the old continent :
First thing you must do when you install CU fresh on a machine is to go to the preferences and change inches to mm.
If you don't do so and start working on a new file, you'll get everything huge (:o ) without any warning...
If you don't do so and start working on an old file, you'll get a big mess, with some dimensions appearing in inches and others in mm, on the same drawing...
Nothing really harmfull, as quitting and restarting puts it all back in order, but it can give a negative feeling.

And it can happen to old users buying a new machine  ...

Tim, could we get a pop-up warning, or direct display of the pref panel at first start of the soft ?

Regards,

JL

JL, had a conversation last week regarding this. What if we had a dialog displayed at start that addressed drawing template at first start? Drawing scale, units, text size, dim attributes, etc would be configured based on a template picked by user.

Great suggestion, JL and super-quick response, Tim!

To add on to the suggestion, how about having some permanent displays at the edge of the screen (similar to Adobe Freehand, shown in this example) to show the units, scale, etc.
