Hi,
Select a solid and "verify > properties"
Selecting a material from the menu is OK.
If I change the density to whatever value, the mass is multiplied by
1000 !
It maybe due to a limited knowledge of metric units over there...:D

do your screen shots illustrate that somehow? If so, I'm missing how. The numbers all look right in what you've got posted.

Was that an error in Shark only? Maybe in the units
file?
I actually don't seem to have that problem, but, i'm using vcp 7.0, build 9671.
I searched the internet, found:
http://hypertextbook.com/facts/2004/KarenSutherland.shtml and thought I would locate the same error. But, after seeing the 3rd table, my install and version sem to be okay.

In my instal, I checked in two ways. In the first, I selected a huge solid I created and it returned a volume and metric and imperial tonnage I know is quite close to what I arived at by hand in the past. To make sure my copy/install is okay, I created a sphere of .01515m diameter, selected it, then noted the vol, wt, and density. I entered "1" in the density box before and after changing the units to use grams. After that, I changed the units back to kg, entered 0.00722, and the wt returned to 0.01308 kg. If i'm missing something,let me know, please.

1 cm3 with
density 1 weight
1 g This is how it should be in metric...
Why do you have to use figures as 0.00722 and 0.01308 ?

5 years later, this problem is still on...
I mean : if I type density
2.5 in the box, it's changed immediately in

Hi JLM,
in the property-windows is given as standard "kg / mm³"; that is a sureal value.
Checking the box " Use grams ", the calculation is ok, when for example water will be given with the right value 0.000,001 kg / mm³ then apears gr / mm³.
.... but you are right. depending from the scale there is an issue with the factor 1.000
The scale kg/mm³ is the value 0.000.001 for water.
