make extruded text with 2 or many letter, the text is extruded, but it is a simple objet and all letters are not independent!:( Easy ... select the extruded text, menu /change type object / volume miracle! the letters are independent. h© h© this trick also works with multiple lines generating a single volume with sub-volumes ... Nice one, Antoine. This software is very flexible - the more I find out about it, the more I like it. Martin.

I usually, maybe 90% of the time, ENJOY using VC. At times i would wish it had some GUI flexibility, but then last night i realized i need to remember my shortcuts assigned to turn off and on the tools pallets, and WHAM, i had the clear desktop drawing space i want most of the time. I need to learn more about pens settings. I need to experiment with what my lineweights and line types would look like flattened to 2D for plotting. I think one resistance traditional 2D drafters may have toward 3D origination designing is that they may be losing control of the granularity of lines presentation. In ACAD, we have a very systematic set of guidelines for line types, weights, colors, title block information and so on, and many clients praised the company for its neatness and strict attention to detail. But, to try to woo those not beholden (emotionally or $$$$$-invested) in ACAD, i imagine any 3D app has to be able to be equal to or very close to ACAD or other top-used production CAD systems. So, i think i've been reluctant to use lines types & weights so far because I "just want to get something drawn" and deal with presentation later. It'll be painful, doing it that way. But, i need to look at numerous types of drawings to see what i'll settle on. Maybe i'll keep it minimal, say foreground/background/hidden, a few colors, a few weights, and few types of lines.

Any of you guys using basic ViaCAD 2D/3D (not Pro), because I can't get this to work here :(
I get no option for volume.
