I think you would need to ...

edit>change object type>surface

then it should work

Thanks for reply JOL
The 3D face should work with this tool without a work around. For example in the same menu if I offset the face it will offset. If I draft the3 face it works also. Try to move or match the face and it's a no go. It's not consistent. If I Move or match the face after offsetting or drafting then it cooperates.
This is a good program and this like the primitives lost vertexs needs to be fixed asap.

hmm .. not sure - that face belongs to the solid

you need to drop to surfaces or offset (which copies) a surface by zero to get the surface you need

Try this. 1. Create a cube. 2. Split a face. 3 Deep select and color the face (just to prove to yourself the face is there). 4.Now window select the whole cube and at the bottom of the "Verify" drop down menu click "object count" and there will not be any surfaces but one solid and it's parts. Again after that if you wish, click on "check object" just below the "object count" at the bottom of the verify menu.
After doing all that it'll be obvious that the face is part of or as you say belongs to the solid.
Thanks for reply.
