I've got a fairly powerful computer I'm thinking about installing Zorin OS on for legitimate reasons I won't be drawn into debating.

I can run my CAM software under Linux. It has been compiled for Linux or Windows, although some of the hotkeys are a different due to the way Linux operates. I've done it before so I am familiar with it. I would like to install ViaCAD, but I know it does not seem to have a native Linux compilation available. For gamers the answer seems to be Steam and Proton, but I think that is just to support a game programming environment. It kind of bypasses the OS to some degree. Correct me if I am wrong.* The answer for Windows applications seems to only be to run Wine and Bottles.

Have any of you successfully run ViaCAD under Linux using Wine or any other method? Does it provide the same or similar 64 bit performance as it does under Windows?

Yeah, I know. I may have to wait days or weeks for a response, but hopefully somebody will answer. I saw the guy complaining about features that no longer exist on his system waited 12 days for me to pop in and give him a possible work around.
