Thank you for letting us know that version 15 has been released. See https://www.punchcad.com/. There are only MAC WIP builds, but apparently, the Windows version can also be purchased. It seems the devs have sidelined the forum, as they are fed up with people wanting old bugs fixed. I might buy v15, seriously considering it. The price is no longer extremely high. Posh.de has removed everything about Shark from its website. I believe there may have been a dispute over unresolved bugs.

I think I will wait a few days to see if some of the bugs are fixed.

By the way, has the licensing policy changed similarly to the transition from V12 to V14? Has it reverted to the V12 licensing model?

Please refer to the Licensing Policies (https://www.punchcad.com/sharkcad-pro).
It appears that the Perpetual License allows one user per installation, or perhaps the Companion License is included with the Perpetual License?

would be nice if there was a try before you buy . I'm done with buying upgrades only to find myself falling back onto an old version

Yeah, I got a mail shot the other day, took me a while to spot the upgrade path. I saw the subscription models now, and although I did get an early Beta to test, but like @curtk says, it'd be nice to try before you buy/upgrade, just to see if the upgrade has cleared some of my issues I've noticed with v14.

I still prefer the SharkCAD workflow for my designing, never got on with Fusion (maybe I'm just not bright enough), but did try Plasticity on a trial, however not used it enough in that time to evaluate as put of by the interface (again should have looked at the tutorials elsewhere first).

Sitting on the fence right now, did download another Beta but not got a working serial or asked for one.

Hello,

For some reasons, I got the opportunity to use V15 beta builds for a few months.

It works pretty well for me, developing cosmetic packaging and injection molds.

Many bugs have been adressed though there are still a few to complain about here...

Language translations are convenient, French and German for now (Spanish speakers should shout loud).

AI module Seams interesting but I couldn't find a usage in real work yet.

Best regards,

JL

Das war schon immer so: Man muss die Zeichnungen mit der Exportfunktion für die Vorgängerversion exportieren.

They're listing TurboCAD as an exchange format as a new feature, is that TC Mac or PC? TC Mac has been native file exchange just by changing the file attachment since way back anyway.

It is strange that I got an email about this upgrade but there is nothing posted here in the forum.
Anyway, the coupon code is only valid for upgrades (which is most people here are all interested in, I presume).
I do read in the licensing options; "Free trial versions are available for those who want to try out the software before making a purchase. This allows potential customers to evaluate the features and performance of our products."
I would love to hear of peoples experience with MacOS Sonoma or Sequoia.

I too have been using Fusion for over a year. You are bright enough - the software is not intuitive in the least. It blows my mind how fast I can parametrically model in Shark compared to Fusion which after completing many projects so far, feels like designing while standing in quicksand with glue on my hands. Any move you make is constrained automatically and takes a multitude of steps in comparison to Shark. I would have stayed with Shark full time but the rendering is not like it was. What V12 rendered in 5 seconds, V14 takes 5 minutes and is not as good.

I took the chance and upgraded. I was specifically worried about the 3dConnexion Spacemouse since the first beta had axis’es switched. At first use the app had the same problem but restarting the computer and adding SharkCad Pro 15 to the 3dconnexion control panel fixed it. The app runs smoothly and some bugs in the interface has been addressed and I’m happy for now.

Thank you for sharing your experience with upgrading to SharkCAD Pro V15. It’s reassuring to hear that the issue with the 3DConnexion Spacemouse was resolved . I also use SharkCAD Pro with Spacemouse/Space Navigator, so your insights are especially relevant and appreciated.

If you don’t mind, could you share your impressions of which interface bugs have been addressed? Also, were release notes included with the download, or are they available elsewhere? At the moment, my mouse is hovering over the Alibre buy button due to the limited information available about SharkCAD V15.

Thank you again for your helpful feedback!

i upgraded to sharkcad 15 pro and have used it a bit ... but already seems more "powerful"

going from solid drawing and converting to an stl file... shark v14 defaulted to deviation of 2... but v15 defaults to a deviation of 8

just started to quickly try heightmap to mesh does it really quick v14 waited for ages or crashed ;; so only just started with it but hope this helps

V15 yes or no ? For me a NO

I watched the 15 Upgrade Offer!

section: Fastener Library
Press: WATCH VIDEO
It takes 3 minutes to get the bold placed...

section: Split at Discontinuity
Press: WATCH VIDEO
2 errors in the video and the letter C refuses 2 times to extrude..........

This is really not done in a commercial video!
If things don't go the way you would find a way it could.
