I have followed this tutorial very well, right up to the part about trimming the excess from the top and bottom.
https://youtu.be/UGmfM2wQhWc?si=AZXv1_2Mcuvd0jNl I am probably pretty thick. but I can't figure out how to use the infinite plane and trim.
I have watched the video several times, but that part seems to go by quickly.
It looks so easy on the video!
I have some thread sticking out on the top and bottom of my part.
Also, how can I check that the threads I created are attached to the part??
Thank you,
Mike

about checking the thread to the part, just move the main shaft around, they should move together; or check the shaft on the explorer having the add solid command in the history.

Trim Tool with Specified Vector: Specify 2 Points for Trim Sweep Direction : Define two points to establish the direction of the trim sweep.
Select Curve or Surface to Trim Solid : Choose the curve or surface that will be used to trim the solid.
Select Solid to Trim : Identify the solid you wish to trim based on the specified direction and selected curve/surface.
This sequence allows you to trim solids by defining precise sweep directions using points, curves, or surfaces.
