I'm following Tim Olson's video on making a spoon using meshes. (I have a good project coming up to make salad spoons on my rotary CNC and need to understand using meshes to create a form rather than strictly using solids.)
Selecting a face on a mesh using the deep select tool and then pulling on it with the gripper is supposed to extrude the face if I hold the Option key down. It doesn't work. It always includes the adjacent faces.
I recently had to replace my computer to a new Macbook Pro with the M2 processor and with it I upgraded to VCP14 from 12. I just tried doing the same thing in my old V12 and the extrude worked as it should. Is this a glitch in V14 of VCP, or due to the new non-Intel processor?
I'll proceed with the exercise using V12 for now.

I made some changes in one of the recent V14 WIP builds in the Beta forum to address this issue.
If you have a chance, download the latest and try again.
I added access for you to the beta forum.

Once you get your spoon shape, you can perform post mesh boolean operations. IE if you want well defined tines on the spoon.

I'd love to hear how it goes!

Thanks Tim,
The new build solved the problem.
