It's just a commentary, is about the Forum User Name. Most of user use a pseudonym. For this type of communication, I think is not a good idea. It isn't a game forum or anonymous opinion forum where you use a Pseudo and an Avatar. Here we focus on the efficacy. Some time we must to make reference to some threads, with the name user. Don't change you name, but can you put your real name in your signature for future reference. THX.

Who cares what another person prefers for a user-name or screen name. The reason we utilize screen names in the first place is for security. If this forum wanted actual names for user-name, that should be one of the requirements. Lighten up, forums are intended for the exchange of ideas and information -- sometimes users even have a little fun.

No problem! :) It was just a commentary ;) I am beta tester for many years through some forums and is one part of a non writing-convention.

Some people use this forum for professional networking in which case you may optionally want more info in your signature. Tim

I think that there is a lot to be said for owning your words, and that only happens when there is a real name attached to those words, it is too easy to flame someone, or make stupid comments when nobody knows who you are, and you can easily assume a new identity. In the last few weeks, Kevin Quigly has joined this forum, someone who I have come to know and respect over the last 10 years because he always uses his real name in CAD forums. I definitely second Jean-Francois on this.

I understand your point. I had added a real name when I noticed that my signature was in fact, lacking a signature, however I apparently neglected to save the correction. Being pleased with the trial version, I thought I would give ViaCAD 2D/3D a longer workout. It has a few problem, but it's a new release and some errors aren't unusual. I'm considering making the switch from TurboCAD Pro V14 to one of the Punch CAD releases. I like ViaCAD's user assignable keyboard shortcuts feature, as I'm comfortable drawing with one hand on the keyboard and the other on my mouse.

You're right Jean-Franois Jacques, my name is Jean-Louis Mathiez...
My company's name is "Cinqpats".
One day, I'll try to explain what it means to English speakers...
