I use this tool a hundred times a day, for geometry, surfaces, solids (mostly with option key down).
It will be the case until we get a symmetry constraint...

My feeling is that clicking two points without really checking the point coordinates is a bit archaic.
Too many errors are caused by clicking "very close" to the wanted point.

My requests :
1- the option to use a reference line instead of 2 points
2- when we prefer the 2 points option, a bright reference line should show up between the points, and/or the coordinates of the points in the top bar.

What do you think ?

Absolutely !!

The transform tools need a refresh with dynamics, extra options, handles and helpers

It would be nice to specify at least the first point pick thru the keyboard such as 50,0 or x50y0 and then have the choice to use smart cursor to finish up or another keyboard entry...This would be faster than using Con. Lines.

All mirror options should have this facility I think.

A line should be an input also .. seems like a very reasonable request !

You can pick two points on a line, but you can't pick the line.

The options that I have are:
2 Pts
XY Plane
ZY Plane
ZX Plane
3 Pts

When I select 2 Pts, the instructions are:
Select start of reference line
Select end of reference line

No select line option or instructions.

Hi JL

We've added a new tool for mirroring in Shark FX V6 called Linked Mirror. It lets you do associative mirrors. It's associative to the objects and an Infinite Plane. I did a plane instead of a line as I need a plane to completely define a repeatable 3D mirror operation.

Great tool !
First step to symmetry...
Thanks Tim
