Activation gets lost? (#3233)

Hi, I've got an activated and working installation of Shark FX (929) on Win7/64. Today I suddenly couldn't launch SFX any more, but the registration/activation dialog pops up. All entries (SN, AuthCode etc.) are automatically filled in with the infos that have been working previously. But clicking "Activate" does nothing this time. The system is completely unchanged, it's a brand new computer with a brand new Win installation. So what's wrong? An e-mail to "techsupport@..." has been sent, but is not yet answered. Bernd

Hi Bernd, Try following.. With the registration dialog box up, delete the authorization code. Then hit register again to receive a new authorization code. Tim

Hi Tim,
thanks. This worked at first, SharkFX started again. But as soon as I quit and launch again, the dialog comes up again, still showing the OLD number. The new one obviously isn't saved. What to delete now?

Registration info for fx is stored in the SFXRegInfo.ini. Put a x in front of it to make shark re-register everything. On the mac this is located under /Users/Shared/Punch!/Shark FX In the past we've seen issues with permissions. If you still have a problem, you might try Repair Disk Permissions. Tim

Martin
You will get that message if you are running a beta build that has expired.

Hi Tim,
thanks, that fixed it (once I had found the *.ini ;-)).

Currently (for me) it's only a Windows problem, using an admin account. So how could this happen? And: Can it happen again? Maybe in 10 days, when the (unused) demo timer expires again?
