"Tools" staying selected while making other actions... (#930)

Recently I have had a lot of difficulty trying to select edges for filleting two adjacent solids. The difficulty arises because partway through the selection process I need to rotate or translate the model to be able to "see" the next edge to select. When I choose the rotate or translate tools, the fillet tool and those selections already made disappear. Is there something I am missing here, or is it meant to work like that? A package I used in another life allowed me to zip off to the toolbar to select a translation or zoom tool, and when finished with it, the previous modelling tool was still current, as were any selections already made. Anyone care to comment?

Thanks, Nick. What about if one NEEDS to translate/rotate an object in order to be able to make the next selection? Is there a way to do this without losing one's previously selected data?

You can also set the object display info to transparent.
I find it easier...
