Hardware Question (#655)

Hi All I am thinking of upgrading my MacBook Pro (Intel Core Duo). Like to check if there will be any performance difference between the new Macbooks 2.2ghz and a Macbook Pro 2.2ghz for running Concepts Unlimited, or in due course, Shark FX? I understand that the main difference is in the graphics card. If my main apps are CU (or Shark) and Photoshop, can I expect any performance gain from using a Macbook Pro? Thanks for any feedback. Best regards Alexander Lau Singapore

Yes.
Photoshop does not take advantage of the better graphics, but CU / shark does. You will also see improvements in the OS when using coverflow and all those new 10.5 apps that use core animation.
If you are serious about cad, the MacBook would be a big mistake.
Shark FX 9 build 1143
OS X 9.5
3.6 GHz Core i7, 8GB, GTX 760 2GB
