how to reorder a feature into the tree? right click, then click into the position of the tree desired... but where to click in the interface? I cannot find the spot :-( I enclose an example.. a silly solid with holes which has been trimmed before applying some rounding... I would like to move the trim at the end... please help thanks G.

The Feature Tree needs a fundamental revision of it's functionality .. from Joe User's POV It works but is like pulling teeth

That would be funny if it wasn't so sad, and absolutely true.
So not even the most expert users can figure this out...

To be quite succinct, the CU Feature Tree is a marvelously promising but patently ill thought-out system. It is useful only for a fraction of the tasks it should be To be less polite - it is a kludge and an ass to use in all but the simplest cases FT fails to make a successful connection between the user and the technology Fully functional user-oriented history is a killer feature, make no mistake .. look at what it did for SW In 8 years I have seen no discernible user-side improvements to the Feature Tree Suggest you all sit down with ACTUAL USERS and rework it !! Feature Tree and Perspective are the last bastions of crapness in CU and both need urgent help

I really appreciate the feature tree technology. I would like to see some changes to it in the GUI to better connect the user to this very helpful technology.
I would like to see simple lines that connect the features, maybe a vertical line that has a horizontal line pointing to each feature. The vertical line would provide a spatial relationship to between features. Along the vertical line and between the horizontal feature lines would be a circle to assist in targeting the location where a feature might be reordered to. Ideally, a simple "Drag & drop" user action would reorder a feature to the circle location.
Attached is an example.

someone needs to go have a look at Solidworks - and see a solution that is really working the History window is sequential - and can be used to pick objects too in real time you can step through how an object is made - per feature Getting useful results from our configuration is really hard and really painful It needs rethinking !
