Hello all.

Am i the only one who feels that ViaCAD is somewhat sluggish when panning and zooming the drawing? I am not using a very complex drawing of anything (just a 2D imported from a DWG with 300KB), but, for me, it seems to slow to be usable! I already wrote tech support and sent the file in, but just wanted to know the general impression all of you have with the program.

My computer is a macbookpro coreduo 2.0, with 2 gigs of ram, so i would expect it to work smoothly.

On the plus side, i enjoy the interface and the mechanic of the program, and hope this situation can be solved so i can keep working with it! :)

Cheers.

How are you viewing your files ?
Any setting with hidden lines on is incredibly slow on a mac and almost unusable. Generally I try not to ever use these modes and stick to full wire frame (no dimming or hidden lines), or shaded.

No, i am drawing in 2D, so no options to render. And the drawings are quite simple, with little over 300KB in dwg format.

We've got a plan to address this issue using some opengl technology from the home design products.

Do you have drawing views? (Use Verify:Object Counts) and search for Drawing Views in the list. If so, try exploding the draw views to see if that speeds up your display.
