I still think this is a useful feature for a Conceptual CAD program. Packaging, making prototype models out of flat stock, etc.

LOUDLY and wholeheartedly seconded. There is a huge market for a simple, easy-to-use unfolding/unrolling tool. Especially one that works on a mac.

Doesn't change that when you analyse Rhino surfaces, they are often gnarly

Perhaps it's high time to get some things straightened out in Concepts' world ..

.. Some more intuitive & modern modelling methods, better display performance, better history, smaller files, folding .. as well as opening a few of those outer doors to Maxwell, Solidworks direct etc

Oh - and that shitty V icon

Heard that the other day...
Especially interesting because of their "we will never, ever port to the mac, get a PC and shut up!"-attitude they used to show on their website.

Anyway great news for the users - competition is allways good, I suppose.
Punch better get their act together...

I would very much like a fold/flatten tool too!

It's a very good tool for making card cutouts for model mock-ups in a Laser Cutter too, not to mention sheetmetal. I'm all up for sheetmetal tools too ;)

Come on you Punch folks! Why don't you give Solidworks a run for their money!?!

I played with TouchCAD for a while- in the end I gave up, finding it really fiddly to use (I suppose once you've used Solidworks, other CAD systems seem a tad too difficult to bother with). It's a shame because TouchCAD has a really nice set of features as well, but I also found the OS9 version more stable than the OSX version too.

I do however think times are changing, thanks largely to Intel in Mac's and the initial impression of Vista being a bit rubbish :D
