What is the easiest fastest way to provide a dimensioned drawing of a part? I usually just plug the drawing export directly into my CAM program and start generating code, but I recently ran into a part that I think would be more cost effective to send out an RFQ on for bulk production. Very few of the "professional" shops who want to quote the part seem to be able to quote it from either a DXF file in 2D or 3D surface file. They all seem to want the equivelant of a blueprint. Sounds almost like they plan to redo the geometry files from scratch. So... What is the easiest fastest way to provide a dimensioned drawing of a part? I don't see an obviously easy way in ViaCad 2d/3d (previous version to current). I could do it faster with a pencil from what I see, so there must be something obvious I am missing.

Hi Bob. I'm presuming you know about "Model to Sheet"? Select your part, then go from there. :) Tom
