I found this post that Tim was talking about copilot. The post said you could email him, and he would send you a link to copilot. Does anyone know where this post is. I was searching for it but could not find it again. Thanks for any help.

I think it's just part of a search engine.

For designer privacy reasons, I hope Tim and Company seriously adopt the internal, private, offline, open source GPT/LLM AI assistants. I personally keep my CAD machine offline. It is still the baseline Windows 11 from 2022. I resist the GPT/LLM stuff for now. I'm by no means a Luddite. But, I have serious, severe, cripping trust issues. Between snoops, hackers, and IP thieves automatically obtaining privileged access, I have no duty to just trust that stuff I'm designing will remain mine to share or not, patent or not, etc. (While I trust Tim to not spy on my machine, I do not care to extend that trust to any other parties or entities. The world is full of cutthroats, and as the competivinees and acquisitions/kneecappings emerge, the survivors will need IP and ideas to generate funds to stay on top. So...If all CAD companies go to subscription-only, and do things to cripple prior perpetual installs, I'll go back to paper. The apparent direction of GPT/LLM and spying and IP gobbling all around makes me weep for the future, and makes me glad I've got less than 30 years left on this particular planet.) As for hopes: I also hope that the AI engines in SharkCAD's future will: — learn intent; — bypass the layer manager and help users reorganize layers since we still in 2024 cannot at-will drag any layer to any place in the CE (except, obviously, not in a circular reference or into-self drag-drop; but, over 20 years I've begged for a modernized layer manager; no joy); — offer a preview of recommendation of replacement curves that obviate linked-mirrorred curves; — offer nearby and distant-from-origin smoothing/fairing of curves for those users who still prefer input/control/shaping vurves vs using meshes or free-form surfaces; — auto-generate an AI/GPT shim that is spreadsheet agnostic, builds APIs to allow the user to drive a model via input cells, and enable SharkCAD users to create geometry having a control purpose that bidirectionally works with spreadsheet cells.

I share your concerns about AI and data privacy. I believe it's more beneficial for IMSI to prioritize fixing existing bugs and enhancing current features, rather than integrating AI functionalities that may compromise user trust and privacy.

Nobody knows which AI Tim Olson wanted to implement. I don't think it has anything to do with Microsoft Copilot, because I believe Microsoft renamed the Bing chatbot to Copilot only after Tim Olson's publication. Moreover, the AI used by Tim Olson seems to be a purely analytical tool. As far as I know, there was no mention of automatic error corrections.
