Why is the gripper changing size with zoom?

Am I the only one disliking that?

How do you cope with gripper handles outside of your screen or the entire gripper being only 2mm in size?

Yes, Rokoko, I remember your fix! :-)

But I just wanted to start a discussion about why the gripper zoomes. Maybe there is something I miss about that.
I find this quit annoying from the first appearance of this tool.
The Gripper concept is really superior to the old paradigm, where you always had to call a different operation for scale, rotation or move.
Especially in the concept phase of a project the gripper is gold.
When it only would stay the same size.

Also a big christmas wish for me was a gripper with online snap and collision for solids and surfaces....

That's the way it was designed, but I agree that we should explore having it fixed in window size (pixel size) constant/independent of zoom.

I did some exploring today ....

So what about...
---Small, Medium, Large would always be fixed by a pixel/screen size.
---Selected Extents would still be based on extents of selected plus a margin overlap

Thoughts?

Something we can explore in the V15 beta....

There is an option for "Face Snapping". When you move a face, faces in the same plane will highlight and snap.

Collision is a great idea!

That sounds terrific, Tim!

The Gripper is such a useful tool. One of the most important ones for the user experience of your products!

During zooming it would be the most intuitive the gripper changed size as long as you drag on the handles.
On releasing the mouse button the gripper switches to the predefined size (Pixels...)
