Starting about a month ago I wrote Punch about a problem that I was having with I am using Sharkcad Pro version 14.1.0 build 1635. on a mac running 10.13.6 with 48 gb ram.

I have sent videos showing that with no parts, just the application open, it crashes upon hitting "render". As far as I know the rest of the application works with no problems. I have gone back to using Shark Pro 11.

I have been using this product and its predecessors for somewhere around 25 years and have come to expect responsive support.

I am now receiving no responses from U.Zubair, Punch Software | QA/Support Engineer and wonder what I should expect as far as resolution of this problem.

Hello Art

It sounds like something may be corrupt with the install. Can you rename your current build (ie add 1635) and download the 1641 build from:

http://www.masterviacad.com/beta/beta.php

If 1641 still crashes, we can try something else...

Thanks Tim!

Unfortunately, the exact same crash occurs. It crashes immediately when I touch render, otherwise stable. I have never had this problem using SharkCad Pro 11.

Thanks

Art

I just tried 1635 with my 2012 Macbook Pro running 10.13.6 (16gb) and the exact same crash occurs. Nobody else is having this problem? I cannot be the only user with Jalopy computers. Again, the Macbook is totally stable and happy with Shark Pro 11.

Can you send me the log file mentioned in the email?

It might helps us track the location in the code.

Tim

Hello Art
I suspect the issue is related to your hardware board:

Device Name:ATI Radeon HD 5870

Do you have any options to disable via a user interface or system setting to confirm?

In 1649, I did make some changes wrt how the CPU/GPU is used where you might want to see if there is a difference.
