After using some beta versions of Shark and ViaCAD I upgraded to ViaCAD 14 since I still have some issues with ViaCAD 12 and Mac OS Venturia.
One of the features I really liked with ViaCAD 12 was the ability to make really nice tiff and jpeg renderings of my designs. Since I have a 27" 5K display these come out really nice with options of shadows, drop reflectors, etc. and don't really need any any other photo rendering. However, the new ViaCAD only seems to have a .png option for photos and three other options like LuxCore and gITF that I'm guessing are for some third party rendering program to import. The .png come out very grainy and pixelated and I have no clue if I need to mess around with various settings, etc.
I still have ViaCAD 12 on my computer so its not a big deal to switch back and render in that when I need to but has anyone played with rendering in 14?
I attached a jpeg and a png so you can see the difference in rendering.

The new rendering engine in v14 is based on Physically Based Rendering techniques which samples pixels. It samples until a halt condition is met which is typically time.

So as it renders you will see unlit pixels until that pixel is sampled.

Try turning on the denoiser in the post processor tab which "fills" in the unlit pixels with some AI algorithms from Intel.

Something else that I find useful for clarifing rendering terms and tips is ChatGPT. (And a ton of other stuff:)

Just be sure to include "LuxCoreRender" in your question.

For example:

What are the IOR and dispersion values for lead glass using LuxCoreRender?

The timing thing make sense, since it can sometimes take a couple of minutes in ViaCAD 12 for a jpg to render. The difference it that it is doing it in the background vs. VC 14.
I did notice that in VC 14 the pixels slowly get better until it "times out" so I will have to play with the settings.
