I'm trying to put a CNC together.
I have downloaded a model of the HGH20CA bearings I want to use. (Stp)
I have Viacad 10 Pro with powerpack.
No matter what units Viacad is in, it always imports this at the wrong size. No options?
Object imports at 1968.50mm. 1968.5/25.4 = 77.5mm)
- It's importing in standard size vis metric regardless of what the units are set to.
Think I could scale it then?
Nope, can't wrap my head around how to use the scaling feature in viacad.
How do I scale it by 25.4?
So Now I'm in the Scale command:
Options: Uniform
Select Object to scale: Okay, this one is easy! I select the object I want to scale!
Select Scale anchor point for scaling: (I select the bottom left corner of the object I want to scale)
Select start reference point for scaling: (I select the start point of a line that is 77.5mm long)
Select End reference point for scaling: (I select the end point of the 77.5mm line)
- I've tried various points to use to get this to work, but its just not scaling.
NOTHING HAPPENS
And the command goes back to 'Select scale anchor point for scaling'
WTH am I doing so wrong?!
Why wont this import at the correct scale?
Is there a Video tutorial on scaling in Viacad? I couldn't find one.
Thanks.
P.S. I was able to get it eventually, but I had to do that math to do it.
In the 'scale' box is a '1.0' I put in 0.03937 and it scaled to the size I needed (1/25.4 = 0.03937)
Not the most elegant way to do it, but I got it.
I'd still really like to figure out the proper way to scale in viacad.
