Hi, I'm looking for a better understanding of the scaling system and how to be a little more precise with it.
I have a sphere with a hole in it (It's an STL import) I do not know the original sizing, but I want to scale the sphere's hole to have a 38mm opening.
How do I do that? All I can do, is grab the triad and drag/drop the scale percentage?
I need an exact scaling. How do I do that?

What I normally do is create a circle on the hole and then measure it. Then calculate how much you need to scale it by size you want/size you have Then I click the yellow scale thingy and type in the figure (Make sure you have everything you want to scale selected). You can also use the scale functions in the toolbars. Scale uniform or differential. This way I talk about is pretty straight forward.

Hello,
I do the same as Ugmentalcase says.
Most of the time without even calculating the factor.
Make two lines or 2 circles,
- one with reference of your object to scale
- one of the final dimension after scaling.
Use the "3 points" scale tool following instructions...
Scaling is the function I never had bugs with... :-)
