I was going to download a trial of V12 Pro to see if I wanted to upgrade, but that option seems to be gone, it was there Friday, where did it go?

you are right, such an answer is quite a surprise from a potential business partner,
that is also what I got:
request:

You might want to check that URL again or head over to our homepage.

I've been trying since Friday, contacted support, haven't received a reply. Don't even know what Build number they are offering.

I really wanted to take a look, I didn't upgrade from v10 due to changes to power pack but it looks like they added splitting of a mesh which is something I do in other software right now. Working with solids in ViaCad works very well for me, but I struggle with working with mesh objects, being able to split meshes would help with remixing stl objects. Occasionally I can get a mesh to simplify to a solid and it makes things so much easier. Haven't given up on the software yet, but there are other options.

I ordered the free trial sunday and again today and sent a message to support that there was no download link in the mail. I see now they removed the trial from the website. Claus

I did receive the SharkCAD PRO Trial this afternoon. Todd in Support was very helpful in sending it to me. The Build Number was 1536. The ViaCAD 12 Trials are also available. Larry

I see the option for free trial, but when I click it shows no products... so unless I need to contact support directly it still doesn't work.

if I understand your message correctly, then the program could only be obtained through direct contact to
Todd and not through normal business channels, as is standard in the business world ???, but thanks for your feedback !

I guess the Free Trial selection was removed.
When I didn't receive the Trial, I contacted
Support, after a couple of days Todd responded
with the required information.
It was far from an easy process to obtain a
Trial Version, needs to be reworked.
Look what needs to be done for a Trial Version.

Many thanks Larry for keeping us well informed, but isn't it easier to win the Ironman ?

I went ahead and upgraded without a trial, hopefully I won't need to use the 30 day money back guarantee. I would have much rather played with it before I purchased it, is it really that hard to manage the free trial option, or is there a lot of abuse / or cracking the key system?

The whole $$ model for this stuff has changed quite a bit. I've been using VC pro 3D since basically the start, and upgraded to every version to latest v11. But that's kinda where I stop. The missing features from v10 to v11 + the not cheap upgrade costs from v11 to v12, makes no sense to me. Sure, it's a code-it sell-it model, but it's been a big paradigm shift which is making me stop on v11. If maybe a good upgrade deal comes along that includes all the VC features, I might go there.
I have (was) been willing to pay the smaller upgrade fees for a product that has never been "rock solid".
