Is there a way to get the functional equivalent of a 3 (or more) rail sweep?

If so what version does it first appear in? (I'm still using version 9.)

If not is this something that has plans for implementation in a near future release?

I could use this feature if it exists in either solid or surface modeling to get the net result.

The current method of getting "close" Is a combination of bending, bulging, and lofting to often get a shape that looks ok, but has internal errors that prevent it from being of any further use. Its very slow and cumbersome, and it often requires starting over at some point to get a shape that can be further manipulated.

There is a surfacing command which allows you to pick m and n curves which should do it. It's under cover surface button. Can't quite remember the name of it though. Also not sure if version 9 has it
