Working on a large 2D Drawing via model to sheet. This morning suddenly saving failed. Backup is switched on (every 30 min), only one very early backup file in folder, no actual backup files in. Error message is: "Could not save data file. Please check that you have permissions this folder or file". The file is on desktop, i have permissions to read and write. I have tried to save to various places with various name, same message anyway. It save files but opening all of these files a message pops up : This file is damage! Cannot read in application. File position 17262285, File size 17262294, File name 191212_SJ8_Design_ABC.sfx Is there any tip around? Working on a Mac Pro , 2TB SSD, MacOS High Sierra Regards, Lutz

Hi Lutz,
Have you tried to export the file... in sfx format ?
It works sometimes
Sometimes the files get huge because a lot of garbage stuff get stored in the background.
Specially when I import different files and delete parts and layers, the file keeps growing...
Closing and re-opening keeps the garbage.
This was already reported several times.
"Compact" in the file menu just with "purged deleted" option sometimes reduces the file size by more than 50%...

Yes , i have tried to export, failed as well. This i my usual procedure to clean up all my confusion in 3D files. In this case it didn't work. I now have taken back the last "save" saved version (6 hours earlier) from Time Machine to the desktop. Checked out all later versions , which failed. Didn't work either. Took these retrieved files to the WIN machine, one opens without failure, lost some work, saved this version with no failure and moved it back to the mac. Actually it works, but i fear the next trouble with it. Lost 6 hours, deadline is tomorrow morning. :-)
