As far as I know you can only use the scaling technique tool on the gripper. Which with a bit of math is okay but old style and more complicated.

Yer Mark, the gripper is a great tool that could be improved
It creates at least 2 regens and a lot of waiting when there are many history links...
Hi jlm
See, Its always good to get other peoples point of view.
"I always find it awkward to move the gripper, then type a value, then enter."
I don't mind that aspect of the gripper, (mouse in right hand, type value with left hand, then enter)
Out of curiosity, how would you simplify that process?
I haven't used other drawing programs, so how do the more expensive programs handle the big files? More efficient core program engines or more expensive Computers or both?
Recently I was talking to a project manager that works for one of the large construction companies and he was asserting that the software they use (didn't know what brand) but for a 40 plus story building he could zoom in on every detail, service ducts, wiring, aircon, hydraulics, paneling, metal, concrete, every floor from basement parking to the top floor penthouse and above that the floor with the water tanks, to external cladding, lift wells, everything down to the last detail, supposedly a full 3d model of the actual building.
It sounded amazing, but it must run on one hell of a computer.
(Probably or perhaps a more specialized program and not as flexible as punchcad products)
If you were to 3d a whole 10 room house with studs, trusses, roof, wiring, water pipes ect in viacad or shark it would start to lock up after about the 2nd room on my computer. Ha Ha (I tried it once)
:-)
