Hi Guys,

It's been awhile. Is there a cross section tool that can be used in 3D ?

solidtoodesigns -

not aware of a "cross section" tool; the construction is straight forward. assuming you have a 3D solid model, use the "infinite plane" tool to create an infinite plane coincident with your objective cross section. on a new layer, use the "cut section" tool and the infinite place from above to create the perimeter of the objective cross section. select all of the perimeter and group the perimeter components with the "group" command; for me it improves the probability of success with the hatching tool. use the "hatch" tool to hatch the perimeter to complete objective cross section. the "hatch" tool can be finicky so you might have to play with it...............
