@NeuTechFLA Looks great!
I'm excited to see how you'll make the transitions between the hard edges and the streamlined surface. Can't wait! :)

I guess a compare with shark is not possible. We say in germany Klickibunti. A button for rotating the view is senseless and you cant change the view while working with a tool. And you have to take a tool after each operation. Please don't tell me from such a arcade game.
We say in Germany:"Every sandpiper praises its swamp." ;) It is also possible that our goals are somewhat different.
Ha! I understand.

But....Over the last ten years it seems every CAD developer was eating lunch at the same restaurant and at the same table. One of them said "Let's make everything on the GUI as boring and gray as possible." Another said "that's a fantastic idea!" Everything looks the same now...except Catia has kept the heavenly blue. Shark CAD is a bit unique and I am okay with it so far. Call me Mr. Sandpiper. :o)

I have started looking at that area. I know how I would create this in other software. I dimply need to learn how to make this in Shark. I will share images when I have it done.

It's shaping up. Much more work to do...

Strange interpretation Mr. Sandpiper. :)))
A small example. I absolutely do not like zBrushes interface and navigation. But zBrush is a unique software that fully meets its tasks. Therefore, I do not care about its interface, zoom or anything else. I can not say the same about Shark. Unfortunately.

Yes, digitalphaser I will mirror the data. This is a standard Class A surfacing method. Once I have the front to a point that I like, I will mirror.
Signed,
Mr. Sandpiper. :o)

OK.I have never been able seamlessly to mirror similar surfaces. I'll wait for the final version.

Peterson's Auto Museum in LA is showing a 2000GT as part of a display of Japanese car culture that'll be exhibited until next year. Wish I could see it, I've seen two in my life, and not since the mid 80s. My father was an executive with the company that introduced Toyota into New Zealand in the late 1960s, and one of the first movies that I can remember seeing at the cinema was the Bond movie "You Only Live Twice", that featured a unique 2000GT convertible built by Toyota for the movie. A guy who has a movie car museum in the UK chopped/sacrificed (perspective) a production 2000GT to build a replica for display.

My real job has been so very busy that I have not had an opportunity to massage my 2000GT. I hope to get back to it soon. I know it is lonely.

Hey everyone. Well...it seems I have painted myself into the proverbial CAD modeling corner with this model. No matter what I try, the geometry will not move, nor can I modify or untrim the surfaces without it becoming a "dumb" ACIS feature.
In order to keep my promise, I need to start over. But it is what it is. And, to be fair, my first Pro/E models 30 years ago were pretty horrible too. So, I will keep plugging along as time permits.

I have finally rebuilt my Shark computer and it is operating great. I have been inspired by digitalphaser to complete my version of the 2000GT. He said recently "But my opinion is that Shark is not able to create complex surfaces like a modern car body. I would like to see it..."
I know Shark can do it...I simply must learn the way it likes to do it! :o) It has been very difficult to remember all I learned many months ago before my computer died. I will be posting my progress as I get time after my real work to work on the 2000.

Looks great! Although it is still rough, but I do not understand how you succeeded some surfaces. Are you wizard @NeuTechFLA? :)

A little Saturday progress.
Now I am off to work on the garden. In the US we say "work on the yard"...which includes mowing grass, trimming trees and watering the wife's plants and flowers. Yes, this is my life.

Why I continue with this painful exercise, I cannot say! Shark is definitely Old School. It's interesting reliving my early career tasks creating the 2000GT and appreciating how far CAD, in general, has come from its early days.

Certainly impressive! Although I still see these hard edges. The connection surfaces has been always a problem for me.
