Often I can't find my model because I'm zoomed too far out or too far in. Could we display something meaningful and always visible?

Menu View/View Properties has a 'Field of view' parameter that would work, although a bit confusing.

Or maybe a direction arrow that points to the origin.

Have you tried zoom extents ?

'e' shortcut by default I believe

Thanks Jolyon, yes that is helpful. I'd still like to see magnification displayed always.
