So, I would like to show my finished sheet metal part AND the blank of that part on the same drawing. How is that achieved in VC/Shark?

You can use draw views to accomplish that. You can create a model to sheet of the part then add a draw view and paste the flat part in it. Regards Jason

Is the draw view a copy of the part (Cut and paste) before the punches are in place? In other words, is the draw view created from the finished part with the holes and bends suppressed? I have not done this before so I am clueless to the ease with which you have described it.

Ok I was assuming you had the geometry already created for both. You can duplicate the part to another layer and unbend it. Then put in views. More of a manual process. Regards Jason

So, it is not the same part in a different "state" of being rather it's two separate bodies within the file? Will they be associative?

You could change the draw view to manual update, and just not update it :-)

I am super close. I used the RMB "Duplicate Part As Instance" to create the 2nd and deleted the holes and bend. It's not perfect but it's a start. I get the sense I am missing the "magic" to get what I want. I will continue to play with it tonight.

And yet again....seconds after I post...I find the answer. I was trying to place the view on a layer (duh!) instead of the part. Maybe I should give it up for the night!

If you just use a unbend or unroll function of the power pack, you have not the right k-factor and your settlement is just wrong. This is just a waste of time. Better to make only a old school 2D-version with the k-factor (i made this already for laser cutting factories which have only 2D CAD). Or just make it with another software.

What we tend to do, is go middle ground and use a 'trim to length' note. Chances are unless you're using a cnc bender or something you'd get varying results anyway. I believe NX unroll uses a middle distance for k factor, and not the exact figures

I use this chart as my general rule for creating sheet metal bend neutral axis. I typically will work with steel or aluminum so I am generally okay with the design based on this chart. I know the fabricators will work this all out (including spring-back) for themselves in the final product.
