Hello Forum

I would like to create Drawings of several parts of an assembly.
Due to its function some of the parts are placed inclined to the axes
of the coordinate system.
If I pick such a part and create a Drawing with the model-to-sheet function
the part is automatically placed representing its position in the assembly.

What is the proper way to place such parts with to the axes aligned edges?
In other CAD programs I can define the axes of the drawing view depending on edges of the part. Does ViaCAD also have a similar function?

Thanks and regards,
Beat Schreiber

Hey Beat Schreiber
Orient the part in the 3D as you want in it in your sheet mode. In the view menu click on "New View". In "New View" name it (my View) and hit apply button in the dialog box. Now when your in sheet mode click on a view then right click and click "change view". Pick "my view" from "User View" and your there.

Hey Beat Schreiber
Im Men "Ansicht" klicken Sie auf "New View".

Create a work plane on a face of your model, then view the plane, then save the current view, then do the model to sheet, then change the view of your sheet to the view you saved.

Thank you Chuck.
This is a practicable way and if I don't have applicable edges I can draw a temporary triade or crosshair.

Beat
