I uploaded recently a SharkCAD User's Guide to the ebook device.
Unfortunately, some tools are not so detailed as in the HTML version. Sometimes it is not structured. In addition, some images are so clipped that it is barely discernible.
I know this software relatively well for my needs, but even this bothers me a little bit.
It would not be bad to put this document in order.
It is a pity that there are no more paper editions. I still occasionally leaf through a German version of ViaCAD Pro v6 printed manual. Cool!
Responsive EPUB edition would be good too.
Is there a SharkCad's German User's Guide?

Secondly, language is not a big problem.
Problems are:
1. I suspect that the manual has not been processed for a long time. 70% of the information corresponds to the printed edition of 2009. Even the layout.
2. Some tools are described superficially. In HTML version, the tools are described in more detail.
3. As shown above, the PDF file is exported with flaws(clipped images).
I like flipping through real books. Because I always find something new that I did not notice before.
It is a pity that now almost no one is doing paper manuals. :(
But can I have a quality digital edition? ;)

The version 10 manual looks fine in adobe. The description or function of all the tools is covered in the manual, if something is missing or there is specific functions that need more clarification Please post a request here on the forum for help or submit the request to bug reporter.
http://www.punchcadlabs.com/page10/page10.php There are a lot of videos showing functionality of the program available 17 are included with the program.
http://www.punchcadlabs.com/page3/page3.html https://www.youtube.com/...amp;view=0&flow=grid If there is something specific please post a request.
Its a tough balance of providing new features and prices low, in today's competitive markets. In almost all software user help is moving to videos and forums vs a paper manual, although there is a huge aftermarket of information published for many software programs by 3rd parties for a fee. I used to like having a paper manual, but I now prefer having a video or a forum to gain info quickly.
Regards
Jason

the German localization (software, documentation, help files, reference card) of the Shark products (ViaCAD application too) is made by us, the localization of version 10 already provided to Punch for producing the German setup routines.

why then asking for a German manual?

the user manula was updated in June 2015 to the additional functionality of version 9. 70% of the information corresponds to the (unchanged) functionality of previous versions. What has the layout of the manual to do with this?

The English HTML help is not derived from the German user manual.

You can order a color-printed manual (spiral bound) of the latest German version of Shark by us .

This is not entirely true. Recently I downloaded SharkCad 10 manual and it is different from what you can find under Help--->User Guide... Screnshot is attached.

I agree. But the video does not cover all themes. Forum is not quick.
The book is always nearby. The book can be read everywhere and always. Each time you can find in book something new. Finally reading is just good for health. It develops the brain. :)

Great!

I can freely read in three languages. But I always choose the one that I know better. ;)

When I see the same pages in different publications(2011 and 2017), it seems to me that the last has not changed much. But it is certainly a my superficial impression.

500 pages for 100€ is CopyShop price. Offset printing in larger quantities can be three times cheaper. Although probably it does not make sense.
In any case, thank you for info. I already printed the manual myself.

Sorry. I found that I did not download aforementioned pdf file. I edited punch's help file myself. I'm not sure that I have the right to distribute it. ???
In any case I think that developers should edit help file. The quality of the help material is not commensurate with the high price of the software. There has enough strange things that need to edit.

Hi Thank you for your help with this. Manuals are always at the bottom of the list of work, and forgotten about when edited unless its something new. I know from my own experience with updating a GIS Manual. Thanks I will stick updates over the manual I printed I just wish someone would highlight changes to the manual. :-) Regards Brian

Hello,
Yes please. completely rewrite the instructions and example for Shark. It really dates too much.
Make it even sexy !! Here is a software that, in my opinion, knows very well communicate and create illustrated examples very nice.

meant layout in the context of DTP.
Functionality which does not have changed does obviously not lead to a changing documentation.

simply because it's printed and manufactured on demand. Putting larger quantities of offset printed manuals (and money) on stock for saving users some bucks (in the worst case buying with Trimble and using the German localized version without any compensation) is surely no business... especially with the manuals going down the train with the next major Shark release.
Actually, users should be happy that there is a reseller providing a thorough localization since 2003 now.

........... Yes absolutely. It has been years since the same demands of faithful users remain unanswered or optimized. A little pressure and / or new sources of inspiration will be beneficial, I'm sure. Antoine
