How can I 'get' an edge or other object from a solid object?

I have a solid object defined. I also have other objects needed to create a 'net surface'. How can i generate the 'edge' of the solid--it is the intersection of two cylinders--in order to define the second of the 'N' curves to create the surface. THEN, how should I convert the surface to a solid so that I can 3D print it? Thanks, CCD PS i can provide the file showing all this if it would help.

>>How can i generate the 'edge' of the solid The Explode Curve tool will convert an existing edge of a surface/solid into a curve. >>it is the intersection of two cylinders The Surface/Surface Intersection tool will create a curve at the intersection. >>how should I convert the surface to a solid so that I can 3D print it? You will need to use the Stitch tool to combine the individual surfaces forming a closed volume and convert into a solid. If it is a thin wall surface, you could thicken the surface into a solid. Hope this helps, if not post the file! Tim
