I need to get some point clouds from Petrel into SharkFX to generate a series of surfaces to trim a solid block. The data is ASCI XYZ uses space as separator rather than semicolon or tab. Units for height and X,Y are in Meters. I managed to exactly this in the Mac Rhino beta, but this has an upper limit of 255 divisions which is not enough for some of the more complex data sets. Ideally I would like the surface to conform to as many of the points as possible. Is this possible to do in Shark, can Shark import ASCI point clouds? Many thanks...

I grabbed this from a tips book I've been working on. Hopefully it helps. Note this works only for a structured mxm set of points.

Tim, FX V8 service pack builds (1016, 1025) have omitted grid surface import. Any remedy?

Try changing the file extension to .dat and use File:Open. Tim
