Hi,
I've drawn a closed profile in 2D, and would like to perform lathe solid at the long axis. The result is unfortunately not what I expected.
See pictures.

Thank you! I'm trying to make a pipe of it. It is said there is a gap? How do I find and close it?

Hello
Rt click on one line of the profile and use chain select to see where the selection chain stops.

Hello
Your profile in the earlier post is a polyline all joined so there are no gaps in that.
Could it be possible that you selected the single line that you drew for the lathe line, when you selected the profile. If you make a lathe line that is offset from the profile and a different color you can make sure you are not accidentally selecting this with the profile.
Regards
Jason

I don't understand it, but
- there is no gap (select chaine)
- Lathe Solid is running with a construction lines I gave it to the endpoints of the left long line as an axis;
- Lathe Solid is also running by marking the model with a click in the right area of lines (all lines are marked red) and click the left long lines (which is also marked red) an other times as axis - but with a wrong result!

Hello Horst
The original profile is a polyline a buch of small lines joined as one. The lathe tool needs a non polyline line as the axis to get the correct results. If I change the profile to lines I get correct profile using the left long line without even drawing a new axis. Or I get correct profile if I draw a quick axis line and use that.

Yes, thanks! It isn't a real problem for me but I like to understand always the coherences.
When I open the properties with the right mouse-key and there ChangeObjectType, than the first checkbox - lines - is taged on.
I figure that this is the actually state, and if not, how I can determine it. When changing the object type - change to polylines - no message comes up like ... "The object just is a polyline ..." or like such a message ... "Object to convert ... Converting will remove ..."
By trying that a have choosen Polyline and >>> OK. No message at all. When I try to reverse that by checking on Lines, the Converting-Messages are coming up.
Regards
Horst

Hi,
I try using the "Shell Feature" the make a hole inside, to get a pipe. I can't find a gap?!?
Is there a 'Gap-Find-And-Close-Tool'?

The shell tool offsets each face the given amount. You normally cannot shell a part with a value that is higher then the smallest feature in your part.
The hole tool removes a cylinder bore through the part.
