Hi

How to know if solid is touching each other?

-
When drawing complex parts, i have problem to know when solid are close together for to work when i print them in my 3D printer. Sometimes parts look connected but fall apart after print.

The command add to solid can work ether there are big space between parts?

How to know a part is only one part, and how to fix gab?

hi,
select both solids and call menu -> verify -> minimum distance for a numeric value of the distance

OK, and for to be printed in one pieces the distance between objects must be 0.00 and not 0.1 or something?

You should alway check your STL files for extra shells.

You should alway check your STL files for extra shells. What way do you check it?

Take a look at my two examples. I have two solid with a smmmmal space between, how to find that.

If using the tool "Minimum Distance" it show 0.00!
If making a manual check is show 0.072 mm.

How to find that problem in a complex solid?

Can i print out a solid there are not one complete solid, as one figure? (More element there are not add to each other, but are touching each other)

Yes, you can. But the perimeters are staying single and independent when there is no overlap of the two solids. The bonding of the parts is only the melted zone of their perimeters.
When the parts are overlaped the perimeters and the infill will be printed as one part.

Surely also dependent of the used slicer, I'am using Simplify3D.

STL repair software software such as NetFabb will check for extra shells as well as a whole lot of other things

Try changing your Preferences : Units: Display Decimal Digits to more digits.

If it is a solid entity, use the Verify: Check Object and inspect the "# Shells" text.

If it is a mesh entity and you have PowerPack, use the PowerPack : Mesh : Mesh Analysis and inspect the "Number of Separate Parts" text.

To check for intersecting mesh shells, use the PowerPack : Mesh : Check Intersections tool.

The 3D Print Tools : Preview command also provides a way to visually inspect your slices from surfaces, meshes or solids. Each 2D shell outline should not intersect another shell outline.
